Tokyograph was founded in June 2006 as a news and information website dedicated to Japanese pop culture. Tokyograph currently has three primary goals:

• To become the most comprehensive English-language source of information about Japanese pop culture (and related non-pop culture)
• To become the most accurate and complete source of English-language news regarding Japanese pop culture
• To provide original content about Japan and pop culture in the form of articles and other features
