Anna Tsuchiya made her modeling debut at the age of 14 in the magazine Seventeen. Her popularity grew, and from there, she began doing modeling for ads, fashion shows, and CMs. She was featured in ads and commercials for several products, including EDWIN and Calpis.

In 2002, Anna joined with KAZ (of Oblivion Dust) to form the band Spin Aqua, which lasted until mid-2004.

In 2004, she made her acting debut co-starring with Kyoko Fukada in Kamikaze Girls, a role for which she later won several awards for Best New Actress. Later that year, she also appeared in The Taste of Tea. Despite her rising popularity and the media attention, she got married to model Joshua in mid-2004, and later that year gave birth to a boy.

2005 was another big year for Anna. She was the voice actor for Lindsay Lohan's character Maggie Peyton in the Japanese dub of Herbie: Fully Loaded. She made her stage debut in the play Dublin no Kane Tsuki Kabi Ningen. Then in August, she revived her music career, this time as a solo artist under AVEX's Mad Pray Records with her mini-album Taste My Beat.

She released her first major singles in early 2006, as well as a remix album. She also released the single "rose", which was used as the opening theme for the anime adaptation of NANA.

In July of 2006, Anna and her husband divorced, leaving Anna as a single mother.
