12-year-old wins Cinderella Audition

The final round of the Cinderella Audition 2007 (not to be confused with the similarly named Toho Cinderella Audition) was held in Tokyo on Sunday. The event was co-sponsored by Vision Factory and children’s clothing brand Narumiya International.

The Grand Prix winner was 12-year-old Yukine Asano, a first-year middle schooler from Nagoya. She was chosen from a total of 2,369 contestants, which was narrowed down to 11 for the last round.

This year also saw the introduction of a boys division, which was won by 11-year-old Reiya Misono, a fifth grader from Chiba.

w-inds. and Lead attended the event to present the awards and to perform on stage.
