16-year-old named Miss Seventeen

Fashion magazine SEVENTEEN presented the winner of its Miss Seventeen 2008 competition on Wednesday. This year’s winner, chosen from 6,238 contestants, was 16-year-old Karen Takizawa.

Takizawa, a first-year high schooler, has a Russian father and a Japanese mother. At 170cm, she stands roughly as tall as actress Nana Eikura, who presented her with the award.

Takizawa is now a model for SEVENTEEN, and she has already been given her first movie appearance in next year’s “ROOKIES” movie.
