The band GLAY will embark on a nationwide tour later this year. The tour, titled "GLAY TOUR 2006 ROCK'N'ROLL SWINDLE~Re-birth~", will actually consist of two sub-tours. The first will start on November 1 at the Miyazaki Municipal Culture Hall and will end on December 28 at the Hakodate City Civic Hall. The tour resumes on January 13 at the Yokohama Arena. Overall, the entire tour will take GLAY to 33 locations with 42 performances. GLAY's new single, G4, goes on sale Tuesday.

Pop star Kumi Koda set a record this week with her DVD, Secret ~First Class Limited Live~. It has now sold 304,000 copies, which is the most for any music DVD by a solo artist. The previous record holder was Hikaru Utada's Bohemian Summer 2000, which sold 303,000 copies. Koda's DVD was #1 on the charts when it was released in September 2005, and has remained in the Top 100 for 42 consecutive weeks.

Box office receipts in Japan this past weekend showed that Mission: Impossible III debuted on top, with Disney's Cars dropping to #2 in its second week. Fuji TV's anime film Brave Story debuted at #3, while Silent Hill debuted at #5. The Death Note movie, which has been in theaters for four weeks, slipped to #4.
