The Teppan Shojo Akane manga is being turned into a drama series this fall on TBS (Sundays at 9:00pm starting October 15). Maki Horikita, Takashi Tsukamoto, and Nana Katase will star in the drama.

On Wednesday, BoA performed at the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo for a fireworks display. According to Nikkan Sports, BoA had sprained her ankle during rehearsals and was also suffering from exhaustion. Still, she insisted on performing the complete program unchanged, against the advice of her staff. She was taken to a hospital immediately following the performance. The paper reports BoA as saying that her reason for persisting was her desire to see the first fireworks in Japan this year.

Shigeaki Kato (of NEWS) will have his first lead role in a special one-shot drama called "An Automaton in Long Sleep." The drama is based on a new novel by mystery writer Hiroshi Mori, commissioned by Coca-Cola for its 120th anniversary. Kato plays an astronomy otaku in college who explores a mystery in a small village. Actress Chiaki Kuriyama will play the heroine. The drama will air on TBS on September 13.
