At J-Wave Live on Saturday, Ken Hirai called upon a surprise guest during his performance - singer/songwriter Kazumasa Oda. Together, they performed Oda's "Tashika na Koto" and Hirai's "Hitomi wo Tojite."

J-WAVE Live 2006 opened on Friday. The 3-day concert is being held at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium. The opening day acts were Naotaro Moriyama, Puffy AmiYumi, Kumi Koda, and Chemistry.

Saturday's lineup features Ken Hirai, Shikao Suga, K, Kaela Kimura, Ulfuls, and AI. Sunday's performers are Three Samurai (made of Char, Tamio Okuda, and Masayoshi Yamazaki), Masayoshi Yamazaki as a solo artist, Bonnie Pink, Chitose Hajime, Quruli, Angela Aki, and Ayaka. Kitty GYM had their first performance on Friday at the Ariake Colosseum. Their performance was part of the opening ceremony of the Women's Volleyball World Grand Prix 2006 (airing on Fuji TV).
