A few more cast members have been announced for the upcoming drama, "Tatta Hitotsu no Koi." Koki Tanaka will play a truck driver and best friend to Kazuya Kamenashi's character. Kamenashi will also have a childhood friend played by Yuta Hiraoka. Erika Toda will play the best friend of Haruka Ayase's character.

It was announced on Friday that Aoi Miyazaki has been selected to play the lead role in NHK's 2008 taiga drama, "Atsuhime." This makes her the youngest lead actor in the history of NHK's taiga dramas, surpassing Hideaki Takizawa who starred in 2005's "Yoshitsune."

In 2007, TV Tokyo's "Shinshun Wide Jidaigeki" will have its first female lead. "Chushingura: Yozenin no Inbo" is a new take on the Chushingura story, focusing on Yozenin (played by Izumi Inamori), the wife of Asano Takuminokami. Other cast members include Kinya Kitaoji (as Oishi Kuranosuke), Masanobu Takashima (as Asano Takuminokami), and Hideki Takahashi (as Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu).

As always, "Shinshun Wide Jidaigeki" will broadcast on January 2. It will air for 10 hours beginning at 2:00pm.
