A series of commercials for the Sony Ericsson SO903i will be turned into a movie to be released this spring. There are four commercials in all, each of which tells a small part of a story. The first one started airing on New Year's Day, and the second one is currently on air. The third segment is scheduled to begin airing on the 13th, with the final piece scheduled for March. Since the commercials began, many viewers have inquired about the details of the story, leading to the decision of turning it into a film.
The commercials star actress Yuko Takeuchi, and are directed by Isao Yukisada. The two previously worked together for the film "Spring Snow." Producer Kei Haruna said that the Sony commercials only used about 5% of the footage they shot. With the rest of the footage and additional filming, the story will be expanded into approximately a 60-minute short film.
