NTV will broadcast a 2-part drama special based on Junichi Watanabe's novel, "Ai no Rukeichi," which was adapted as a movie that opened last month. The two parts will air on March 20 and 21, at 9:00pm. Goro Kishitani and Saki Takaoka will co-star.

Actress Maki Horikita has been announced as a co-star to Rina Uchiyama in the upcoming TV Asahi drama, "Seito Shokun!" Although the two actresses belong to the same agency, this is the first time they will appear in a drama series together.

While Uchiyama plays the role of a middle school teacher, Horikita will play the role of a second-year student. Because of an illness as a child that delayed her education, her character is three years older than her classmates.

The rest of the cast includes Kippei Shiina as an education committee member and Kanata Hongo as a student.

"Dororo" has now been at the top of the box office for four weeks straight. Based on its popularity, plans have been announced for not just one, but two, more movies. Co-stars Satoshi Tsumabuki and Kou Shibasaki will return for both sequels. Filming is scheduled to begin next year, with releases planned for 2009.

Popular group KAT-TUN will host its own talk/variety show this spring. Titled "KAT-TUN" (「カートゥンKAT-TUN)」), it will air on NTV on Wednesdays at 11:55pm. The program is scheduled to begin on April 4.

Fuji TV has announced that it is creating a new drama time slot in its programming schedule, Saturdays at 11:00pm. The first series to be broadcast is "LIAR GAME," an adaptation of the manga of the same name by Shinobu Kaitani (serialized in Young Jump). Three volumes have been released so far, with approximately 300,000 copies sold.

Actress Erika Toda will play her first lead role as Nao Kanzaki, a college student who becomes involved in a mysterious game, but she receives help from an expert swindler named Shinichi Akiyama. The series begins on April 14.

Singer-songwriter Kazumasa Oda will sing the theme song for the upcoming NHK morning drama "Dondo Hare," which stars Manami Higa. The song will be titled "Daijoubu."

According to the TBS website, the upcoming drama starring Tetsuya Takeda and Atsuko Takahata is actually titled "Fufudo" (ふうふどう), not "Meotomichi."
