D-BOYS member Yu Shirota will star in the live-action film based on Satoshi Yoshida's popular manga "Arakure Knight." The original manga was serialized in Shonen Gahosha's "Young King" magazine from 1995 to 2005. By popular demand, it continued in Arakure Knight Magazine until last November. The 28 tankobons have sold a total of more than 10 million copies.

In "Arakure Knight," Shirota takes on the role of Naito Zenba, a 17-year-old in a biker gang. Shirota is perhaps best known for his role as Kunimitsu Tezuka in the "Prince of Tennis" movie. He also starred in "June Bride" last year, another movie based on a Satoshi Yoshida manga.

Misako Yasuda will co-star as Zenba's girlfriend. The film is scheduled to open at the end of April.

On Saturday, actress Mariko Ishihara officially acknowledged that she has been convicted twice of stalking while in the United States.

In 1995, Ishihara moved to the U.S. after leaving show business. She became acquainted with a musician there, to whom she began sending letters. In 1997, a Florida courthouse found her guilty of stalking, and she was sentenced to a fine and 18 months of probation.

In 2003, she ran into the musician again in Las Vegas. She was introduced to his friend and bandmate, whom she began pursuing instead. In May of that year, a Las Vegas court again convicted her of stalking, and she was sentenced to 125 days in a prison near Los Angeles.

Ishihara issued a fax stating that the unfortunate incidents were the results of misunderstandings.
