It was discovered on Friday that Yuu Kikkawa has become a member of the Hello! Project Eggs. Kikkawa was a finalist during Morning Musume's 8th generation audition, and many fans had hoped she would be selected.

Hiroshi Tachi and Shihori Kanjiya will star in a WOWOW drama special this August, titled "Eve no Okurimono."
Tachi plays a salaryman at an elite company. One day, he meets a young woman (Kanjiya) resembling his daughter, who died from an illness. A relationship between the two develops. Unfortunately, the woman is later driven to suicide by yakuza looking to collect on her father's debt, leading the man to seek revenge.

Talento Shoko Aida, formerly a member of the J-pop duo Wink, seems to be headed for marriage. Photo tabloid FRIDAY reports that Aida is in a serious relationship with a handsome doctor named Hiromitsu Aizawa, who is the third son of former Diet member Hideyuki Aizawa and actress Yoko Tsukasa.
The two were first reported to be romantically involved last September, but at the time they claimed they were just friends. Aida's agency has now confirmed they are dating.

Oricon has launched two new online projects. The first is Ranking News, a sub-site devoted to all of Oricon's rankings. The move offers an increased amount of statistics and topics, while also centralizing all of Oricon's ranking data.
Oricon's other project is the "oricon TOP 20" video show. Each Friday, a new show will be published, presenting the weekly singles chart accompanied by clips from the songs' music videos. The shows also include news about the weekly album charts, popular artists, and current trends. Each program lasts roughly 10 minutes long. The videos are available through Yahoo! Japan's streaming video site, but access is limited only to Japan and requires Internet Explorer on Windows systems.

Singer-songwriter Ai Kawashima will sing the theme song for the drama series "Sono Otoko, Fukushocho," which stars Eiichiro Funakoshi. The series airs on TV Asahi on Thursdays at 8:00pm, starting on the 26th. This is Kawashima's first theme song for a serialized drama.
The song is titled "Kimi ni..." and will be released as a single on May 30.
