Former Morning Musume member Kaori Iida announced through her agency that she is getting married. Her partner is Kenji, former vocalist for the band 7HOUSE, which was also produced by Tsunku until it broke up in 2002.
Several years ago, it was mistakenly reported that Iida and Kenji were dating. They later lost contact, but in December 2005, they happened to meet again and became friends. Around September of last year, they began dating with the intention of marriage. Then last month, during her regular health check-up, Iida found out that she was pregnant.
The two are expected to register their marriage soon, but no plans for a ceremony or reception have been announced. Iida, who is currently in her 10th week of pregnancy, will take a break from work after finishing the Morning Musume Tanjou 10 Nen Kinentai concert tour in August.
