Actress Shihori Kanjiya, who currently stars in NHK's morning drama "Chiritotechin," has been chosen for another starring role next season. She will appear in a TV Asahi mystery/comedy series, tentatively titled "Kimi Hannin Janai yo ne?"

"Chiritotechin" started filming last June and its final episode is scheduled to finish shooting on the 22nd of this month. Kanjiya will have little time to rest before she starts filming for the TV Asahi series in mid-March.

The drama features Kanjiya as Sakura Morita, a peculiar "freeter" (freelance part-timer) who dreams of becoming a mystery novel writer. While switching between various jobs throughout the series, she also becomes an assistant to Officer Utagawa (Jun Kaname), a detective who discovers her excellent memory and reasoning skills. On the other hand, Utagawa (who has just joined the police ranks through his father's connections) is fairly inept and has a tendency to fall in love with female suspects.

"Kimi Hannin Janai yo ne?" premieres in April and will occupy TV Asahi's Friday 11:15pm time slot, which has previously been the home of successful mystery series such as "Jikou Keisatsu" and "Trick."
