Last month, it was announced that Yoko, the daughter of singer Eikichi Yazawa, will be making her debut with Avex as the vocalist of a new rock group called The Generous. New information about the band has been released, revealing that it is a duo with guitarist Katsumi Ohnishi, who was once part of the Tomoyasu Hotei-produced duo JET SETS. Ohnishi is also serving as the composer and arranger for The Generous.
The pair are releasing their first mini-album on October 29. Two of the songs, "Melody" and "Dream Star," have already been given tie-ins. In particular, "Dream Star" is being used as the opening of the "Skip Beat!" anime series, which starts next month.
The band's first live performance is a free concert scheduled for September 28 at Tokyo Midtown.

Guitarist Kohey Tsuchiya, formerly of the band THE STREET SLIDERS, is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his musical career with a solo project. His first release is a single called "MUSIC FLOWER," on sale October 15.
The single is a collaboration with several popular artists. The title track features the vocals of five female singers - Tomiko Van, Maki Ohguro, Mika Nakashima, Rinko Urashima, and Nadia Shimazu - along with the horn section of jazz band Katteni-Shiyagare and the trackmaking skills of DJ HASEBE.
In addition, one of the coupling songs is a tune named "Soul Ryder" featuring Chara, said to be reminiscent of her collaboration with The 99 1/2, "Chara no Boogie Shoes."

Chin Nakamura, the 29-year-old guitarist of punk band Ging Nang Boyz, is now a proud father. The happy news was announced on the band's official website on Saturday.
Nakamura married his girlfriend in May after learning that she was pregnant. She finally gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday afternoon.
