"Boys on the Run," a boxing manga by author Kengo Hanazawa, is reportedly getting a live-action film adaptation. Daisuke Miura is directing, while Ging Nang Boyz frontman Kazunobu Mineta stars.
The story revolves around a salaryman in a dead-end job who becomes inspired to try out boxing after meeting an old acquaintance. Release is scheduled for fall 2009.

Talento Wakako Shimazaki has been cast in the lead role of an upcoming TBS drama series called "Over 30." In addition, she will sing the show's theme song, titled "Happy Life ~Ashita ni Mukatte~." It will be the first single released under her name since 1993.
In the drama, Shimazaki plays Aiko, a housewife and mother who clashes with a single working woman named Mika (Ryoko Yui). Noboru Takachi plays Shimazaki's husband. Minoru Tanaka, Mie Nakao, and Hitomi Nakahara also appear in the show.
"Over 30" will air on weekdays at 1:30pm, starting on January 5. "Happy Life" goes on sale the same month.
