Nao Kawakita, the 33-year-old drummer of rock band Maximum the Hormone, recently tied the knot. In an entry written Tuesday on her official blog, she described her husband as a former bassist of a band called REMIND who now works as a pizza chef.
Kawakita, who is also the older sister of Maximum the Hormone guitarist Ryo, has been maintaining her own online journal since 2002. In the same blog post that she announced her marriage, she said that she plans to end the blog with a final entry on Wednesday.

Shuchishin topped the charts this week with "Yowamushi Santa," their final single before they put their music activities on hiatus. It sold 152,000 copies, easily beating out Porno Graffiti's new song "Koyoi, Tsuki ga Miezu Tomo," which secured the #2 spot with 82,000 in sales.
A few other artists made the top ten list with fresh singles: Masayoshi Yamazaki (#5), DEEN (#6), alice nine. (#8), Shugo Chara Eggs! (#9), and Tommy heavenly6 (#10).
Mr.Children claimed victory on the album charts, moving 708,000 copies of "SUPERMARKET FANTASY." Kiyoshi Hikawa's new collection ranked 4th, while compilations by ALI PROJECT and Yosui Inoue landed at #8 and #10, respectively.

The Japanese edition of GQ magazine has revealed the winners of its 2008 Men of the Year awards at a presentation ceremony on Tuesday. This is the third time the awards have been given.
Of the six winners, newspaper headlines focused on fashion producer NIGO, due to the fact that he got married that same day to actress Riho Makise. Joining him were Arashi's Jun Matsumoto, artist Takashi Murakami, director Takeshi Kitano, comedian Sekai no Nabeatsu, and Olympic medalist Nobuharu Asahara.

Sakura-Con 2009 has just announced another musical Guest of Honor. The convention has already lined up girugamesh, Smile.dk, and The Slants, and now they will be presenting the premiere U.S. performance of the duo Hangry & Angry. Composed of the former Morning Musume members Hitomi Yoshizawa and Rika Ishikawa, the group is a collaboration with h.NAOTO's fashion brand of the same name.
In November, JapanFiles revealed its plans to give Hangry & Angry's debut mini-album a U.S. release simultaneously with Japan. JapanFiles also revealed at the time that the duo would be touring in the U.S. next year.
To help promote the group and the convention, Sakura-Con is giving away free copies of the mini-album "Kill Me Kiss Me" to the first 20 people who register for the convention between December 16 and December 23. Sakura-Con is being held in Seattle, Washington, on April 10-12, 2009.
