Actress Rie Tomosaka (29) made a surprising revelation on her blog on Wednesday: she and actor/stage director Masahiko Kawahara (39) have divorced. The two have been married since April 2003, and Tomosaka gave birth to a son in October 2004.
In September 2007, had hinted at divorce on her blog due to their busy careers, but after reporters picked up the story, she responded on her blog that it was just paranoia.
As for the reason behind the actual divorce, Tomosaka said there was nothing in particular, and that the decision was amicable. She also declared that no matter what happens, she and Kawahara will still be the parents of their son.
On Kawahara's blog, there were recently pictures of the three enjoying Christmas together, and as of Monday, Kawahara still referred to Tomosaka as his wife.

Comedian and actor Hitori Gekidan and talento Akane Osawa are reportedly planning to get married this coming spring. It is also said that they have already met each other's parents and informed their agencies. However, an official announcement isn't expected until early spring.

On Wednesday, Erika Sawajiri discussed more details about her marriage with the press in front of her family's home. She said that the wedding ceremony will be held at Meiji Shrine on January 19, while the reception party will take place in Hawaii sometime after that.
Sawajiri said that Takashiro proposed to her on August 1 in the mountains of the Altai Republic (part of Russia), where they visited to view the total solar eclipse. She also showed off the engagement ring that Takashiro recently gave her, which was designed by Takashiro himself.

The Japan Record Awards were held on Tuesday. The big winner was EXILE, who added the top prize to their growing list of honors this year. Their song "Ti Amo" was chosen for the Japan Record Award out of 12 nominees, which included artists such as Kiyoshi Hikawa, TVXQ, and Kumi Koda. For EXILE, this is one step up from last year, when they won the Best Singer award with "Toki no Kakera."
The title of Best New Artist was given to enka singer Jero, while Best Singer went to Mitsuko Nakamura. It was already known earlier this month that Namie Amuro's "BEST FICTION" was chosen for Best Album.
