On Saturday, the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2009 took place at the Saitama Super Arena. The big winner of the night was the group EXILE, picking up a total of three awards for the second straight year.
EXILE again won the title of Best Video of the Year, this time with "Ti Amo (Chapter 2)." The same video earned them honors for Best Group Video. EXILE completed the trifecta with the Best Choreography Award.
This year's ceremony was hosted by comedian/actor Hitori Gekidan. Several celebrities made guest appearances, including Thelma Aoyama, Nana Eikura, Meisa Kuroki, Nana Tanimura, and Kanako Yanagihara. The event also featured performances by artists such as EXILE, Black Eyed Peas, BoA, Green Day, Katy Perry, and Remioromen.

Fuji TV announcer Tomoya Morishita (30) is soon getting married to Chika Umehara (32), a reporter for Tokai TV. Morishita, who has been with Fuji TV since 2001, is currently active on "FNN Super News."
Morishita and Umehara reportedly met on the job seven years ago, and it eventually led to a romantic relationship starting around three years ago. They carried on a long-distance relationship between Tokyo and Nagoya during that time, and Morishita finally proposed on his birthday this past March.
The two plan to hold their wedding reception at a restaurant in Tokyo on July 19, and they are expected to formally register their marriage in the same month.
