Naoto Kine (51), a member of the band TM NETWORK, committed a minor "hit-and-run" earlier this month. On August 10, Kine was driving in Minami-Aoyama when his car mirror struck a 30-year-old male pedestrian.
According to police, Kine was driving his car at around 3:30pm. As he turned onto an alleyway, his side mirror hit the elbow of the pedestrian. However, Kine did not stop the car and continued to exit a few meters away at the other end of the alley. The man caught sight of part of Kine's license plate and reported the incident to the police, who were able to eventually contact Kine.
Kine appeared at the police station on the 15th. He stated that noticed the pedestrian in his rear-view mirror, but because the man showed no reaction, Kine thought that his car had simply hit the telephone pole next to the man.
Kine has already apologized to the man, who suffered only a slight injury. Police still intend to submit the case to the prosecutor's office.

Last week, it was learned that Satoru Makimura's manga "Real Clothes" is being adapted as a live-action series. More details have now been made public, including confirmation that it will be a sequel to the one-episode drama that aired on Fuji TV last year.
The original drama adaptation starred Karina as the protagonist Kinue, an unfashionable saleswoman at a department store who gets transferred to the women's clothing department. There, she works under a stylish boss (Hitomi Kuroki), which forces her to change her lifestyle and fashion sense.
Both actresses will reprise their roles for the new series. Karina's older sisters Anna Nose and Erena, who are also models like her, are returning as well.
Filming starts next month and will include scenes shot in Paris and at the Isetan department store in Shinjuku. Fuji TV plans to broadcast the drama on Tuesdays at 10:00pm, beginning October 13.

Talento Yuka (29) has been cast in next season's TV Asahi drama series "My Girl." She will play the girlfriend of Arashi member Masaki Aiba (26).
Unveiled earlier this month, "My Girl" is Aiba's first starring drama role. The show is based on Mizu Sahara's manga of the same name, which tells the story of a young man (Aiba) who learns about the death of his former girlfriend (Yuka) who left him six years earlier. He also finds out that she secretly gave birth to his daughter (Momoka Ishii, 6), whom he takes in and starts to raise.
Although the main story takes place after the girlfriend's death, the character will still appear in every episode during flashback scenes. Yuka's last regular role in a full drama series on a commercial network was in 2002's "Zoku Heisei Meoto Jawan." However, she did appear in several episodes of last year's hit drama "Maou."
"My Girl" starts in October, airing Friday nights at 11:15pm.
