2010 Elan d’or Awards

The All Nippon Producers Association presented the 2010 Elan d'or Awards on Thursday. As always, the media focused on the “newcomer awards,” given to a crop of young stars. This year, the six winners were Masaki Okada (20), Nana Eikura (21), Ryuhei Matsuda (26), Mirai Shida (16), Hiro Mizushima (25), and Mikako Tabe (21).

Director Setsuro Wakamatsu’s “Shizumanu Taiyo” received the prize for best film, and “Tenchijin” received the prize for best drama.

Best Producer awards were given to Shunichi Kobayashi and Tsutomu Tsuchikawa (both for “Shizumanu Taiyo”), as well as Shinsuke Naito (for “Tenchijin”). Honorable mention prizes went to producers Akihiko Ishimaru (“ROOKIES -Sotsugyo-”), Nao Tsugiya (“Aishiteru ~Kaiyou~”), and Ken Murase (“BOSS”).

The special award recipients included cinematographer/director Daisaku Kimura and the late actor Hisaya Morishige.
