“Aibou” duo to split with Terawaki’s departure

Yasufumi Terawaki, one half of the starring duo in the hit detective drama “Aibou,” will be leaving the show after the upcoming 7th season. Along with co-star Yutaka Mizutani, Terawaki has been one of the most recognized TV detectives during the past decade.

The show started in 2000 and has had a 6-month run every year since 2002. A film version opened in May and has been one of the top-grossing pictures of this year. A spinoff film is in the works, and the 7th season is scheduled to run from October to March.

It has not been revealed how Terawaki’s character will leave the show.
