Namie Amuro (32) has completed another animated music video, this time for the song “Defend Love,” which is included on her new album “PAST < FUTURE” (being released December 16). The video pairs her up with the iconic character Amuro Ray from “Mobile Suit Gundam,” making her the first music artist to appear in the “Gundam” universe.
The video is somewhat of a sequel to Amuro’s “Dr.” from earlier this year, which was her first fully animated music video. Like “Dr.,” the video for “Defend Love” is a collaboration with studios such as Kamikaze Douga and SUNRISE, as well as Telecom Animation Film (known for “Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro”). The project took approximately two months to create.
