Announcer Tomoya Morishita engaged

Fuji TV announcer Tomoya Morishita (30) is soon getting married to Chika Umehara (32), a reporter for Tokai TV. Morishita, who has been with Fuji TV since 2001, is currently active on “FNN Super News.”

Morishita and Umehara reportedly met on the job seven years ago, and it eventually led to a romantic relationship starting around three years ago. They carried on a long-distance relationship between Tokyo and Nagoya during that time, and Morishita finally proposed on his birthday this past March.

The two plan to hold their wedding reception at a restaurant in Tokyo on July 19, and they are expected to formally register their marriage in the same month.
