Movie art director Kimihiko Nakamura died of renal failure at a Tokyo hospital just after midnight on Tuesday night. He was 94.
Nakamura is best known for his work during the 1950s and 1960s. After leaving a job at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, he joined the Shochiku Ofuna studio in 1951. He was promoted to art director the following year, and he worked on Keisuke Kinoshita’s “Onna no Sono” (“The Garden of Women”) and “Nijushi no Hitomi” (“Twenty-Four Eyes”).
