Ayane Sakurano, the current musumeyaku of the Takarazuka’s Flower Troupe, has announced that she is leaving the troupe on May 30 of next year. Her last performance will be in “Gubijin: Aratanaru Densetsu,” playing at the Takarazuka Grand Theater from March 12 to April 12 and at the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater from April 30 to May 30.
At a press conference held on Thursday, Sakurano explained that ever since being appointed to top star status in 2006, she had always been thinking about when she would retire from the troupe. This past summer, she performed in “Me and My Girl,” and she said that she had been satisfied and happy every day during it. After reaching that feeling of accomplishment, she decided that it was time to move on.
