Bakusho Mondai’s Ota directing comedy film

Comedian Hikari Ota (44), one half of the duo Bakusho Mondai, is directing his first full-length film. The project was revealed on Sunday by Mitsuyo Ota (45), Hikari’s wife and president of his management agency.

Hikari is writing the script himself, though the script is already behind schedule. The film was originally planned for release by the end of this year, but it has been pushed back to spring 2011. Mitsuyo said she wouldn’t reveal any story or cast details until Hikari completely finishes the script. However, it is known that the movie will be a comedy.

On the 20th, Mitsuyo plans to establish a film production company specifically for this project.

Hikari already has some directorial experience, as he contributed a short piece to the 1991 omnibus “Bakayaro! 4 You! Omae no Koto da yo.”
