Caster Aiko Kaito undergoes surgery

Fuji TV newscaster Aiko Kaito (25) underwent throat surgery on Thursday, it has been learned. She is expected to return to the morning show “Mezamashi TV” this Tuesday.

Sources say that Kaito began having problems with her voice two months ago. In December, her doctor found a polyp near her vocal cords. Under his advice, Kaito decided to have surgery after Thursday’s episode of “Mezamashi TV.”

The operation was said to be a success, keeping Kaito’s “cute and sweet” voice intact. Besides her work as a newscaster, she has also done voice acting for the “Tamagotchi” movie and “One Piece Film: Strong World.”
