“Caterpillar” and “Otouto” join competition at Berlin

The 60th Berlin International Film Festival (February 11-21) announced 18 more films for its Competition section. The list includes two films from Japan: Koji Wakamatsu’s “Caterpillar” and Yoji Yamada’s “Otouto.”

“Caterpillar,” based on a story by Edogawa Rampo, stars Shinobu Terajima (37) and Shima Ohnishi (34). The screening at Berlin will be its world premiere.

“Otouto,” making its international premiere, has been chosen as the festival’s closing film. Although it will screen out of competition, it is still considered part of the Competition section. The movie stars Sayuri Yoshinaga (64) and Tsurube Shofukutei (58).
