Charts: KAT-TUN, Yusuke, Arashi

KAT-TUN’s 14th single, “ULTIMATE WHEELS,” ranked #1 on the charts this week, selling 181,000 copies. This extends their current streak, as all of their singles since their debut have topped the charts.

At #2 on the single charts is AKB48 sub-unit Watarirouka Hashiritai, who released a cover of Sayuri Kokusho’s 1986 solo debut song “Valentine Kiss.” Right behind them on the charts were Kiyoshi Hikawa, Kumi Koda, and ClariS, in the #3 to #5 spots. Yui Horie, Buono!, and DEEP also had new singles enter the top ten, at the #8 to #10 positions.

On the album charts, Yusuke saw his second album take the top spot. Titled “Ano... Yume Motemasu Kedo,” the album sold 79,000 copies. Although he has achieved #1 with two of his singles before, this was his first time to do so with an album.

The other new Japanese albums in the top ten came from YU-A (#5), Sekihan (#6), and MONKEY MAJIK (#9).

The DVD charts were ruled by Arashi’s latest release, “ARASHI 10-11 TOUR’Scene’ ~Kimi to Boku no Miteiru Fuukei~ STADIUM,” for the second week in a row. The DVD sold an additional 59,000 copies this week, putting its total at about 677,000. This pushes their all-time music DVD sales to roughly 4,014,000 copies, making them the first artist to surpass 4 million DVDs sold.
