Chihiro Onitsuka assaulted, arrest warrant issued for attacker

Reports surfaced today that singer Chihiro Onitsuka (29) was the victim of an assault last month. Shibuya police revealed that a file was claimed and that an arrest warrant has already been issued for Onitsuka’s attacker.

At around 6:00am on August 18, a male acquaintance became violent towards Onitsuka in her own apartment building. The singer was hit in the face and suffered injuries that required a month to heal. At the time of the attack, Onitsuka’s building manager contacted police on her behalf.

Onitsuka’s management company issued a statement on her official website, confirming the reports of the assault. However, they declined to comment further, as the matter is still under investigation. They also indicated that she has almost completely recovered.
