Anime studio Sunrise has announced a stage musical inspired by the “Code Geass” anime series, featuring an all-male cast. Takagi Shinpei will star as the protagonist Lelouch Lamperouge. Akanishi Jin’s brother Fuuta will play Rolo Lamperouge, and Nakatsuka Kohei will play Kururugi Suzaku.
The musical is titled “Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch -Majin ni Sasageru Prelude.” Story details have not yet been released.
Several members of the male cast will be playing female characters, including Acaba Mio as C.C., Wada Taisuke as Kallen Stadfeldt, Mikami Shun as Euphemia li Britannia, and TAKA as Cornelia li Britannia.
The other announced cast members are Sakiyama Rui as Ohgi Kaname, Ono Kento as Shinichiro Tamaki, Nagasawa Kazami as Zero, Kodera Toshimitsu as Gilbert G.P. Guilford, Mori Shingo as Diethard Ried, and Higashiyama Yoshihisa as the Emperor of Britannia.
The musical will be performed at the Galaxy Theatre on Tokyo’s Tennozu Isle from June 28 to July 8.
It was also previously announced that there will be a non-musical stage play based on “Code Geass,” which will be performed at Katsushika Symphony Hills from April 7 to April 16. That plays stars Tanno Enichi as Lelouch and Shiozawa Hidemasa as Suzaku.
