COIL’s Yosuke Sato hospitalized

Yosuke Sato of the duo COIL was taken to the hospital on Saturday after dropping out of the annual music festival Augusta Camp. Organized by the agency Office Augusta, this year’s event marked the 10th anniversary.

COIL was also celebrating their 10th anniversary, and a special tribute was planned for the group. After the duo participated in the event’s opening, Sato began feeling ill and was transported to a nearby hospital. His exact condition hasn’t been revealed, though it seems he had a similar health problem in 2003 when he backed out of the same event.

This year, Sato was planning to appear on stage with each of the performing acts, but he unfortunately missed out on all of them. His partner Sadayoshi Okamoto completed their own scheduled performance by himself, though the set was cut short.

Sato may recover in time for the Osaka leg of the festival, which takes place August 9.
