Comedian Daita divorced after being caught in affair

Comedian/talento Hikaru Daita and broadcast writer Katsura Kitamoto have divorced. Kitamoto made the revelation in his personal blog, in which he compared his marriage to “army life,” with Daita being a “sergeant.”

Kitamoto wrote that he was “reluctantly graduating from a difficult but enjoyable army life.” He continued the analogy, saying that “war correspondents had photographed the sergeant training with a more capable prisoner,” apparently alluding to recent photos taken by a weekly of Daita with another man.

Daita and Kitamoto first started dating in October 2005 and got married less than three months later, on January 16. Kitamoto happened to make his announcement on Tuesday, exactly one year from their wedding date.
