Crystal Kay to make drama debut

Singer Crystal Kay (23) has been given her first regular role in a television drama series. She will appear in NTV’s “Hidarime Tantei EYE,” which is scheduled to premiere on January 23.

“Hidarime Tantei EYE” started out as a one-episode special in October, but the network decided to develop it into a complete series for this winter. The show stars 16-year-old Hey! Say! JUMP member Ryosuke Yamada as a junior high student who begins seeing visions after a corneal transplant, leading him to fight against a criminal organization.

Crystal Kay will play the part of Akira Kokusho, a genius hacker living in confinement. She already made her acting debut in Naoto Takenaka’s movie “Yamagata Scream” earlier this year, but this will be her first time acting on the small screen.
