D-LOOP vocalist dies

Music group D-LOOP has suffered a sudden loss. Member Hiroaki Hayama (35) revealed on Tuesday that the group’s vocalist, MINAMI, passed away in January.

D-LOOP debuted in 1997 with the single “Just place of love.” They released two more singles before going on hiatus a year later. They resumed activities in 2004 with an album and a single, but they again stopped after about a year.

MINAMI had been ill, though the nature of the illness has not been revealed. According to Hayama’s announcement, MINAMI’s death seems to have been caused by a misdosage of her prescription medicine.

Hayama is currently the keyboardist of Tourbillon, though he also produces music for several other artists.
