“Dainipponjin,” the directorial debut of comedian Hitoshi Matsumoto, has been invited to three more major film festivals this year, in Toronto, Pusan, and Hong Kong.
The movie was a hit at Cannes, and it has been a remarkable success in Japan. Since its opening on June 2, it has reportedly been watched by more than half a million people, with a gross of more than 750 million yen.
