DekaPink to marry Red Racer

A new “Ranger” couple has been born. Mika Kikuchi (25), who played DekaPink in “Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger,” and Yuji Kishi (39), who played Red Racer in “Gekisou Sentai Carranger,” are now engaged. They plan to hold their wedding in December at the Tokyo Dome Hotel.

Kikuchi and Kishi met in late 2006 when they were both cast in a production of the musical “Les Miserables.” They began dating after the musical’s run started in June 2007. Kishi proposed last October.

For both actors, their Ranger roles were their television acting debuts. “Gekisou Sentai Carranger” was the 20th Super Sentai series and aired from 1996 to 1997. “Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger” was the 28th Super Sentai series and aired from 2004 to 2005.
