Four AKB48 members are getting their own solo comic strips in the manga magazine Weekly Young Jump. The four girls – Mayu Watanabe, Yuki Kashiwagi, Rie Kitahara, and Rino Sashihara – will take turns each week, starting with the magazine’s Volume 38, on sale on August 19.
The titles of their manga (subject to change) are “Mayuyu: Mangaka Debut Keikaku,” “Yukirin no THE Idol Quest,” “Kitarie no Mousou Bungaku Shoujodou,” and “Sasshi Bishoujo-ka Keikaku.” As the titles suggest, the comics will reflect each member’s own personality.
