Fukuyama returns to drama in “Tantei Galileo”

Popular musician and actor Masaharu Fukuyama is returning to television dramas this fall. He will star in “Tantei Galileo,” the next in line for Fuji TV’s flagship Monday 9pm time slot. Fukuyama’s last drama role was in the 2003 series “Bijo ka Yajuu” with Nanako Matsushima.

In “Tantei Galileo,” Fukuyama plays a brilliant but eccentric physicist who solves difficult mysteries. He teams up with a rookie detective (played by Kou Shibasaki), whose personality is the complete opposite of his.

The drama is based on a novel series by Keigo Higashino, who won the prestigious Naoki Prize last year.
