Public broadcaster NHK hit a new ratings low with its morning drama series “Gegege no Nyoubou,” which premiered on Monday. At 14.8% in the Kanto area and 10.1% in the Kansai area, “Gegege no Nyoubou” has achieved the lowest-rated start for an Asadora since viewership data began being collected in 1964.
Before this, the previous record low in the Kanto region was set by “Dondo Bare” in 2007, which fared slightly better at 14.9%. In the Kansai region, “Gegege no Nyoubou” performed significantly worse than the previous 11.8% record set by the recently-ended “Welkame.”
