Gravure idol dies of cancer at 25

Gravure idol Eri Murakami died of appendix cancer on Sunday morning, her agency announced on Thursday. She was only 25 years old.

Last November, she began suffering from stomach pains. At the start of this year, she underwent an examination and was diagnosed with cancer. She attempted to have the tumors removed, but by then it had already spread to her lungs and other areas.

Murakami was the Sapporo Beer Campaign Girl in 2003 and served as the mascot girl for fabrics company Unitika in 2004-2005. She was also once a member of the futsal team HbG (which later became chakuchaku J.b).
