Haruna Kawaguchi stars in drama

Mitsui Rehouse and Pocari Sweat campaign girl Haruna Kawaguchi (14) has been given her first starring role in a television drama. The drama, tentatively titled “Hatsukoi Chronicle,” is part of the “Pantene Drama Special” series sponsored by Procter & Gamble.

The “Pantene Drama Special” series has had one drama special almost every year since 2003. Past stars in the dramas include Asami Mizukawa (26), Haruka Ayase (24), and Yui Aragaki (21). Kawaguchi, who made her drama debut in last season’s “Tokyo DOGS,” will be the 7th heroine in the series.

“Hatsukoi Chronicle” is set in the city of Odawara in Kanagawa and tells a love story involving a high school student (Kawaguchi) with a passion for fishing. Kawaguchi, who hails from Nagasaki, enjoys fishing in real life, making her a perfect choice for the role.

The drama will be broadcast on BS Fuji on March 13.
