Hidetoshi Nishijima, Mirai Moriyama star in Yusuke Iseya’s new film

At the end of November, it was revealed that actor Yusuke Iseya (34) had finished filming his sophomore directorial effort, “Seiji ~Riku no Uo~.” The movie’s cast was unveiled on Friday, with Hidetoshi Nishijima (39) and Mirai Moriyama (26) playing the leads.

The story is based on a bestselling novel by author Tomoki Tsujiuchi. Moriyama has been cast as the narrative character, a 4th-year university student. Having already lined up a job for after graduation, he spends his last summer vacation taking a trip on his bicycle. Along the way, he comes across a drive-in called “HOUSE475,” run by a clumsy but pure man named Seiji (Nishijima). He starts helping out at the drive-in, and through Seiji’s influence, he begins rethinking his own life.

The drive-in’s owner is being played by actress Nae Yuki, and three of the drive-in’s regular customers will be played by Hirofumi Arai, Kenichi Takito, and Kiyohiko Shibukawa. Masahiko Tsugawa has been given a part as an elderly blind man.

“Seiji” will open in theaters in 2011.
