Actor Hidetoshi Nishijima will star in a remake of the popular drama series “Kaiki Daisakusen” (also known as “Operation: Mystery!”). The remake, titled “Kaiki Daisakusen Second File,” will consist of three 45-minute parts, airing on NHK’s BS-hi at 10:00pm on April 2, 9, and 16. Takashi Shimizu (“Ju-on: The Grudge”) and Hideo Nakata (“Ring”) will each direct one of the episodes.
The original “Kaiki Daisakusen” was a 26-episode tokusatsu series that aired on TBS from 1968 to 1969. It achieved an average rating of 22.0%
