Hiroshi Abe to star in new Koreeda film

It was revealed on Tuesday that director Hirokazu Koreeda’s next film is a comical family drama titled “Aruitemo Aruitemo.”

Heading up the cast is Hiroshi Abe, known for his frequent roles as unusual characters. This time, he plays the part of a good-for-nothing man who fails to follow in his father’s footsteps in medicine. He keeps his distance from his parents, leading a currently unemployed life with his soon-to-be wife, who already has a child. The story unfolds when he reluctantly returns home for the death anniversary of his older brother.

Also appearing are Kirin Kiki, Yoshio Harada, Yui Natsukawa, YOU, and Susumu Terajima. Filming is currently in progress. The movie opens next year.
