"Southbound," a novel by Naoki Prize-winning author Hideo Okuda, is being turned into a movie, directed by Yoshimitsu Morita. The story is about a family led by an unconventional father, a self-styled writer who was once an extremist. The role will be played by Etsushi Toyokawa, accompanied by Yuki Amami as his wife.
The movie is scheduled for release in October. Distribution will be handled by Kadokawa Pictures.
