The popular tokusatsu series "Ultra Seven," which aired from 1967 to 1968, will once again return as a television series after nearly 40 years. This fall, TBS will broadcast "Ultra Seven X," whose hero will be almost entirely unchanged from the original in appearance and technique, including the use of the Ultra Eye glasses for transformation. One change is that the Eye Slugger weapon (a boomerang on Seven's head) will be given a different name.
The story will involve an organization called DEUS, established to defend the world against hostile aliens. One member, known as Jin, has the power to transform into Ultra Seven. The part will be played by up-and-coming Okinawan actor Eriku Yoza. Actress Saki Kagami will play the female lead.
