With the approaching release of "Densen Uta," the new horror flick from Yasushi Akimoto, Oricon decided to poll a thousand people to determine the scariest J-horror films.
Almost a third of the voters named the "Ringu" series, placing it far ahead of the competition. The "One Missed Call" ("Chakushin Ari") series came in second, slightly above the "Ju-on" franchise.
The rest of the top ten were as follows: "Dark Water," the "Scary True Stories" series, the "Gakkou no Kaidan" series, "Infection" ("Kansen"), "Shikoku," the Junji Inagawa series, and "The Black House" ("Kuroi Ie").
