A 17-year-old boy suffered an injury to his left eye during an audition for a television drama series.
The show is being produced by NHK for its Saturday drama time slot and is scheduled to air in January. The story centers on a professional baseball coach who becomes a high school teacher.
Auditions were being held for the members of the school's baseball team, and part of the session involved playing catch. During the activity, one boy was hit directly in the eye by a ball.
